Accessing the assistant

The assistant is accessible from any space, folder, item, or other major Fabric app screen (except settings). The face icon represents Fabric Assistant – clicking it in this floating bar will open it. Screenshot2026 02 25at23 03 01 Where you open the Assistant will set it’s context (or scope) to the most relevant topic. For example, opening the Assistant in a folder will set its context to that folder, to try to provide more relevant contextual answers about it. Learn more about Assistant context here

Assistant can help or even do work for you

You can ask Fabric Assistant to move files for you, add tags, rename files, create notes, edit notes, create tasks, and much more. When you ask Assistant to perform an action that modifies or deletes something, it will show you what it plans to do, and ask you to approve the action. That way, it ensures that you get the outcome you want. When it asks for approval, it will show the following buttons: Screenshot2026 02 25at23 40 05 When you ask Assistant to modify a text document for you, it will show you all the additions (green) and removals (red) in the document, and you can choose to apply individual changes, or all of them in one go.
